Imi approved Haim's adding extensive groundwork modified weapons defenses and other additions/improvements to the Krav Maga system. On February 28, 1998, Haim Gidon was elected as Grandmaster and chairman for life, by the IKMA general assembly. Haim Gidon represented the Krav Maga system on the professional martial arts committee of the Wingate institute.
As President and Grandmaster of the IKMA, has taught the defensive tactics for the last thirty years to Israel's national police and security agencies. Several of Grandmaster Gidon’s students actively teach Krav Maga within the Israeli government’s security branches. Haim has received special commendation from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies worldwide for his specific Krav Maga law professional training curriculum.
While improving the Krav Maga system daily, Haim follows Imi’s fundamental premise that Krav Maga must work for everyone even against the most skilled adversaries. Haim has ensured that the IKMA’s techniques will work for anyone regardless of size, strength or athletic ability. Importantly, Israeli Krav Maga is constantly refined and developed by Grandmaster Gidon and the IKMA professional committee.
Haim actively tests any new developments on the mat and, when, necessary challenges old assumptions. Accordingly, the IKMA curriculum is continuously updated. Constant improvement, evolution, and adaptability make Krav Maga the most formidable fighting system along with system’s genius to teach anyone the core self-defense and fighting principals.
Grandmaster Gidon has received many unique commendations over the years from security and military professionals such as the Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, and from Israeli Prime Minister’s Office along with numerous government commendations which cannot be publicly disclosed. Grandmaster Gidon’s professional curriculum has worldwide reach and is extended through his students, including senior Instructor Yigal Arbiv, who have taught police agencies all over the world. Haim has instructed a whole new generation of practitioners and his instructional services are requested worldwide.
